In line with its sustainability- and technology-driven growth vision, Kıta Logistics continues to position itself as one of the pioneers of transformation in the sector through its comprehensive investments in Green Logistics and Digital Transformation. As the company rolls out a large-scale program spanning warehouse and bonded warehouse infrastructure, fleet restructuring, carbon management, and the digitalization of commercial processes, it has increased its total investment in these areas to approximately TRY 600 million.
Within the scope of this new investment, sustainability has become not just an approach but a core element of operational design in the newly commissioned warehouses and storage facilities. Supported by renewable energy systems, the facilities generate energy through rooftop solar panels, while energy-efficient lighting infrastructure, in-warehouse recycling practices, and environmentally friendly packaging solutions have been integrated into a unified system. With the transition to lithium-ion forklift technology, both energy efficiency and occupational safety standards have been significantly improved. The number of forklifts using this technology has reached 24. Through process optimization efforts, resource utilization has become more efficient, while smart systems implemented in electrical and fire safety have played a critical role in strengthening operational continuity.
Fleet renewal, carried out in line with sustainable transportation goals, has also been a key pillar of this transformation. In this context, 31 next-generation Ford Trucks Gen 2 vehicles have been added to the fleet. With all vehicles meeting Euro 6 emission standards, significant improvements in fuel consumption and carbon emissions are targeted, while operational efficiency and environmental performance are addressed together.
Kıta Logistics has also entered a new phase in carbon footprint management. By enabling carbon footprint calculations to be carried out using internal resources, processes have accelerated and decision-making has begun to rely on stronger data sets. This capability allows for more effective planning of carbon reduction strategies and measurable management of sustainability performance. The company is also continuing its pre-audit preparations for the ISO 14064-1 Corporate Carbon Footprint Standard certification. The company can now share emission data with its customers for all road transport carried out with its own fleet and for sea freight shipments. Preparations are also underway to measure and share emissions related to air freight.
As part of the digital transformation program, sales, marketing, and procurement processes have been restructured through smart automation systems. Thanks to the newly implemented digital infrastructure, pricing capacity has increased by over 60%, while the volume of quotations has grown by 20%. Through automation in operational communication processes, approximately 4,000 email workflows related to shipment tracking are now managed by the system. This transformation has enabled teams to save hundreds of hours, allowing these resources to be redirected toward sales development and pricing activities.
The company’s digitalization vision is built on a structure where operations are managed through a single platform, systems are fully integrated, and decision- making processes are data-driven. This approach represents a holistic transformation strategy that includes reducing manual workload to strengthen operational excellence, ensuring seamless data flow by integrating the Tmaxx platform with customer, agency, and ERP systems, and enabling real-time monitoring of performance metrics and KPIs.
Within the scope of corporate infrastructure transformation, the transition to the SAP system has been completed for finance and accounting processes, while the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors for human resources processes is planned. With these steps, the company aims to build a more integrated and measurable structure focused on both corporate efficiency and employee experience.
Messages from the Management
Emre Eldener – Vice Chairman of the Board
“The logistics sector is no longer defined solely by speed and cost; it is being
reshaped around sustainability, digitalization, and data-driven management. At Kıta
Logistics, we do not see our investments as merely a technological upgrade or an
environmental responsibility initiative, but as fundamental building blocks of our future
readiness strategy. Today, we are able to use artificial intelligence in our European
road groupage operations to optimize routes and loads. While reducing our
environmental impact through green logistics practices, we are also offering our
customers a more transparent, faster, and more predictable service model through
our digital transformation initiatives. This transformation also serves as a strategic
lever that sustainably strengthens our competitive advantage.”
Bilal Yurttaş – General Manager of Warehousing and Bonded Warehouses
“In our warehouse and bonded warehouse investments, we approached
sustainability, energy efficiency, and operational excellence not as separate topics
but as a single integrated structure. Through the use of renewable energy, lithium-ion
powered equipment, smart security systems, and optimized processes, we are
improving both our environmental performance and service quality. At this point, our
facilities are no longer just physical storage areas; they have evolved into technology-
enabled logistics centers focused on efficiency and sustainability.”
